Frequently asked questions
Why can't I select text after compressing?
This tool turns every page into an image, which is how it gets the size down this far — so the text can no longer be selected or searched. That's fine for a form upload, but keep the original if you need selectable text.
The file didn't fit the limit — now what?
Choose a larger size, or scan at a lower resolution. A great many pages, or a very detailed scan, can be hard to shrink that far.
How many pages does it handle?
Up to 40 pages at a time, so your phone doesn't run out of memory. For more, split the file first.
Does it open password-protected PDFs?
No. Remove the password first, then compress.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The file is processed entirely in your browser. This site has no upload server, and its security headers stop the browser from connecting anywhere else.
